Non-Degree-Seeking Students
Mental health professionals who have completed a master's degree in counseling or a related mental health field and who are currently working toward or hold a professional license or certification may apply to take play therapy classes as a non-degree-seeking student. If accepted, they are eligible to take the three play therapy courses offered in the Professional Counseling Program pending available spaces in the classes.
Why take graduate play therapy classes as a professional?
Graduate play therapy classes can be an excellent way to gain a strong foundation in play therapy. Instead of attending many small trainings that cover several topics, you'll have the opportunity to learn play therapy in a systematic way. Our classes begin with foundational knowledge and skills and build on them, introducing more advanced topics and skills in way that allows students to integrate more complex material with previous learning.
Eligibility
You are eligible to enroll as a non-degree-seeking student if you meet the following criteria:
- Have a master's degree in a mental health field
- Are working toward a professional licensure or certification (e.g., LCSW-Associate, LPC-Associate, Certified School Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, etc.) or hold one of these licenses/certifications
Please note that eligibility does not guarantee admission as a non-degree-seeking student. You must complete an application and then wait to see if there is space in the play therapy classes.
Procedures for Applying
Please complete the following steps to enroll in play therapy classes as a non-degree-seeking student (NDSS). Please note that these steps apply only to individuals who are interested in the play therapy classes through the Professional Counseling Program.
